We had a busy and fun Father's Day full of time spent with our family. We started the day off with breakfast in bed for Bryan, who got to watch World Cup coverage all alone while he ate! We dedicated Hannah at church this morning and our families were all there for the special occasion. My parents and Bryan's parents, siblings and their spouses and kids all came. My brother's band had a gig in Denton last night so they weren't able to come. Luckily we will get to see them in a few weeks!
After church we had everyone back to our house for lunch. We had ham, turkey, green bean bundles (a Pickett favorite!), "Lucy potatoes" which are a staple from my family, salad, watermelon, pretzel rolls and a special cross cake I made in honor of Hannah's dedication. It was my first time to try to decorate a cake. While it definitely didn't look professional, it also didn't look like it belong on that Cake Wrecks website so I deemed it a success! :)
The cousins enjoyed fun play time after lunch including a fun time of 'ring around the rosie' for the little ones. We are blessed to have such a wonderfully supportive family who we enjoy spending time with! We are blessed by both of our wonderful Dads and it was great to spend the day with them in addition to celebrating Bryan.
Here are some pictures from the day:

Joshua insisted on going up front with us but Caleb stayed seated with his grandparents.
Praying for Hannah.
We chose Psalm 139:13-14 for Hannah. This is the verse that we wrote on her bedroom door frame when our house was being built, likely around the time she was growing in her birth mom's tummy! I love thinking back on how Hannah was in our hearts and how God was preparing us for her, even before we knew of her.
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."
Sweet girl! So pretty in purple.

We had 6 kids 6 and under --- 5 of them who are 3 and under.
There are always a lot of sippy cups and noise and not sharing mixed in with laughing and playing and smiling. Such a blessing for our kids to grow up with cousins!

Sometimes I look at her and still can't believe she is home.

These things are huge and at least 1 or 2 of them go everywhere with us.
He always has one in the backseat of the van with him and all 3 sleep on his bed on top of him!

And of course, who doesn't finish the day with removing staples from your dog?
thanks for the sweet comment on my blog Betsy! Loved checking yours out. Hannah is the cutest. And so are the boys of course! Being a special needs mom is certainly an adventure... we've had a lot of experience, especially with leg braces, if you ever have any questions! Sounds like y'all have some good doctors though. Glad to keep in touch :)
